The inquisitorial seat of Lisbon of the Portuguese Inquisition was created in 1539 and existed until the final supression of the Portuguese Inquisition in 1821.

List of the Inquisitors of Lisbon presented below is taken from Collecciao dos Documentos, Estatutos, e Memorias da Academia Real da Historia Portugueza, Lisboa Occidental 1723, p. 437-445 (with minor corrections), and therefore, does not include any appointment later than the date of its publication. Furthermore, it indicates only the dates of inquisitorial appointments to the Tribunal of Lisbon without indicating the dates of the end of the service of the respective inquisitors. The dates of the next appointments on the list are of no help here, since the standard composition of the tribunal of the Portuguese Inquisition included as many as three inquisitors at one time.
